Bursaries for Early Career Professionals and Individuals with Lived Experience
CHRA offers a limited number of partial bursaries to Early Career Professionals and Individuals with Lived Experience attending Congress to help offset travel and accommodation expenses. Discounted registration rates for Congress and Pre-Congress sessions are also available.
Selection will be made on a first-come, first-serve basis, and in relation to geographic equity. Preference will also be given to those who have submitted a Call for Proposals for Congress 2018, and have been selected to speak.
Individuals selected for a bursary are required to register and pay to attend Congress at the discounted rate in order to be eligible, and are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation.
Note: A limited number of bursaries are available. Bursary recipients from past years are welcome to re-apply, however subsidy rates vary for returning participants.

- First time bursary recipients will receive up to 75% of their return travel and $45 per night to help offset the cost of accommodation.
- Returning recipients will receive up to 50% of their return travel and $40 per night to help offset the cost of accommodation.
- Bursary recipients from Ottawa-Gatineau are not eligible for travel and accommodation bursaries, and will rather be considered for a partial bursary to offset the cost of Congress at the above rates.
Registration will open January 2018.

Submission Deadline: Ongoing. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. A limited number of bursaries are available, and will be offered until all funds have been allocated.
Eligibility: To be eligible for the Early Career Professional Bursary you must be working in the housing/homelessness sector and be 30 years of age or under at the time of application, or a full-time student of any age whose studies have a housing focus. For the Lived Experience Bursary, applicants may be currently or formerly homeless; while those working for an organization who work directly with those with Lived Experience may also be considered.
