The Canadian capital markets are made up of pension funds and life insurance companies looking to invest billions of dollars long term at fixed rates. In theory, Indigenous housing is a natural investment for the capital markets—but, the reality is quite different. in this webinar, Howie from Housing Partnership Canada will examine the supersized challenge of financing Indigenous housing in the capital markets, and will talk about a recent effort to fund an Indigenous project and identify what needs to be done. Howie will be joined by Justin Marchand, Executive Director of Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services and member of the CHRA Indigenous Caucus Working Group.
