I became a houser by happenstance in 2016, when I joined YWCA Hamilton as Director of Building Services. This role opened my eyes to multiservice and housing for all, where I improved facilities in transitional, second stage and developmental services housing, and worked to create permanent affordable housing for women and woman-led families in a multi-use facility. That door into the housing sector opened and I continued as a Real Estate Development Consultant at SHS, working with a multitude of non-profits in their housing initiatives.
As the Board representative for New Brunswick, I look forward to providing a local voice to the unique perspective and challenges that we have as a rural environment, as well as potential solutions that may be advocated for in CHRA’s work.
