For the past 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of having senior positions within the social services sector at the YMCA, 360kids, Raising the Roof and Blue Door, working hard with so many talented and passionate people to be innovative and strategic in my approach to programs, policy and processes aimed at supporting our most vulnerable.
In my most recent work as the CEO of Blue Door, York Region’s largest emergency housing provider, I helped launch Blue Door’s successful employment social enterprise Construct (a CHRA award winner!), three supportive housing programs including the first safe space for 2SLGBTQ+ youth in York Region, and are working to launch the first land trust in York Region dedicated to maintaining and creating affordable housing.
As well, I am fortunate enough to be the host of Blue Door and CAEH’s housing and homelessness podcast “On The Way Home”, the Board Chair of the youth homelessness-focused organization A Way Home Canada.
