The Canadian Housing and Renewal Association along with members of a national coalition officially launched the Vote Housing campaign on June 17. CHRA is proud to have partnered with the Co-Operative Housing Federation of Canada, the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness and the Canadian Lived Experience Leadership Network to shape what is expected to be the largest housing advocacy campaign in Canadian history—together, we aim to mobilize thousands of people across Canada to pledge to Vote Housing in the next federal election.
The campaign will engage with federal political parties, candidates, individuals, and organizations to convince the next government to make affordable housing and homelessness a centrepiece of its political agenda. It includes specific recommendations on how this can be achieved, including creating and implementing a For Indigenous By Indigenous Housing Strategy, and increasing the supply of affordable housing.
