*Congress 2019 will kick off in grand style with a rousing greeting from our hosts, the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. Among the expected speakers at this year’s Opening Ceremonies are Victoria Mayor Lisa Helps, BC Premier John Horgan, CHRA President Stéphan Corriveau, and a special address on the state of housing in Canada from the President & Chief Executive Officer of CMHC, Evan Siddall.

**Join us as we officially kick off the CHRA Pre-Federal Election 2019 Campaign! In this session we will present the recommendations paper and discuss the advocacy efforts that have taken place and are planned for sharing our recommendations and key messages with all party candidates. Together let’s shape the agenda of the next government!

*The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada report poignantly states, "Reconciliation is not an Aboriginal problem; it is a Canadian one." New for 2019, this year’s Keynote breakfast will feature a panel with Indigenous and non-Indigenous leaders reflecting on the role of housing in realizing reconciliation with Canada’s Indigenous peoples. 

** The ever popular Yardi Awards Luncheon will honour the best and brightest individuals, organizations and projects in the nonprofit, social and affordable housing sector in Canada. A special posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented to past CHRA Chair John Metson.

*** Attend the CHRA Annual General Meeting to learn about CHRA’s activities over the past year.  New for 2019, members will have a chance to weigh in on the development of CHRA’s next Strategic Plan – a key opportunity to share your views on the future of CHRA. All members are invited to attend the CHRA Annual General Meeting to learn about CHRA’s activities over the past year, you’ll have an opportunity to vote and meet your Board of Directors for 2019-2020.  Voting cards can be picked up at the registration desk.”
