The Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Canada, Canadian Housing and Renewal Association (CHRA), and Housing Partnership Canada (HPC) are introducing the Housing Professionals Mentorship (HPM) Program.
This new program, open to 30 mentees for the first year is designed to connect experienced housing professionals with those who are ready to take the next step in their professional journey, or graduate students whose research is focused on housing or homelessness in Canada. The goals of the Housing Professionals Mentorship Program include: the building of strategic networks, enhancing leadership competencies, and sector capacity growth, among others. As with all mentorship relationships, there will be value for both mentees and mentors.
The Housing Professionals Mentorship Program is focused on providing comprehensive learning, leadership development and mentorship, in order to:

To participate in the Housing Professionals Mentorship Program, you (or your organization) must be a member of CHRA, CIH Canada, or HPC in good standing. Potential mentees must currently be employed in the housing/homelessness sector or currently in a graduate program doing research on housing or homelessness. Mentors may be employed or recently retired from the sector.
Your organization must fully support your participation and time commitment (minimum 25 hours) to the program.
Eligibility for mentees will not be limited to age, though preference will be given to housing professionals early in their careers, or housing professionals looking to take the next step in their professional journey, to promote learning and development in the sector.

The call for applications for 2019 will open in early fall.
